The Aim of the Program: The aim of this program is to provide education in medical laboratory techniques to students who have graduated from high schools or equivalent schools. The program aims to train 'Medical Laboratory Technicians' who can perform diagnostic methods applied in the Pathology, Biochemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, Parasitology, Medical Genetics, and Public Health laboratories of hospitals, can conduct these methods efficiently, organize the obtained findings appropriately, and transmit them to the responsible physician and department as needed.
Importance for Our Country and the Sector: In our program, competent individuals who can work in both public and private sector organizations, who have knowledge and experience about contemporary healthcare services, are skilled in communication, have self-confidence, act in accordance with Atatürk's Principles and Reforms, are aware of their duties and responsibilities towards their country, and incorporate these into their behavior, are being trained. These individuals have a modern, free, and scientific way of thinking, a broad worldview, respect for human rights, and a secular and democratic perspective. They are trained to have the professional competence and skills to work in accordance with the needs of individuals, families, and society.
Employment Opportunities: Graduates of the program can be employed in the Pathology, Biochemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, Parasitology, Medical Genetics, and Research laboratories of public or private hospitals. They can also work as laboratory technicians in national and international scientific research projects. With a lifelong learning mindset, they can continue their academic development.
Departments Transferable through the DGS: Graduates of the program can continue their undergraduate education in departments such as Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Nursing, Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Health Management through the DGS.
