Medical Imaging Techniques

The Aim of the Medical Imaging Techniques Program: The aim of the program is to train 'Professional Medical Imaging Technicians' who are high school or equivalent school graduates and can use various radiological methods (Radiography, Ultrasonography, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance, etc.) whose importance in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases is increasing day by day, under the guidance of basic medical and radiology knowledge and hospital practices acquired during their education. These technicians are expected to use and organize this knowledge appropriately, interpret and apply their knowledge of radiation protection for their own and patient's health, and have the experience and coordination skills to work in collaboration with physicians.

Importance for Our Country and the Sector: Today, almost every hospital in our country has a Radiology Department. In addition, the number of private imaging centers is increasing day by day. Therefore, the need for trained personnel in hospitals and private imaging centers is also increasing.

Employment Opportunities: Graduates of the Medical Imaging Techniques Department can work with the title of technician in Radiology departments of government hospitals, universities, private hospitals, private medical centers, and private imaging centers as educated assistant technicians.

Departments Transferable through the DGS: Students who successfully complete their associate degree education can continue their undergraduate education in Nursing, Nursing and Health Services departments through the DGS.
